Rest & Relax

Jim Porter’s exquisite videography will take your breath away, and the music and nature sounds are exactly right too. Even though I usually recommend that people close their eyes for the most effective relaxation and imagery, I have to say these gorgeous nature scenes, lingering on lakes, flowers, sunsets, meadows and ocean inlets, are the exception that proves the rule. There are also 5 brief, guided, stress reduction exercises, including breathwork and meditation. For people who don’t imagine on their own easily (and for people who do) this gets the job done and sets the gold standard for video meditation.

This is an intriguingly unique relaxation DVD, consisting of high definition video of time-lapse nature scenes of sky and clouds, accompanied by well-produced, super-clear musical accompaniment and nature sounds, plus Thompson’s technological specialty - alpha brainwave pulses - to amplify the relaxing effect. Although people who like closing their eyes for quiet meditation might find this to be a bit of sensory overload, it’s a wonderful alternative for those who don’t respond to audio. It comes with a booklet of relaxation tips. (65 min)

I use this tape in my anger management group, chronic pain, and to help with pain. I find it beneficial because he covers several relaxation techniques at once and allows clients to practice them and determine which is more beneficial for them.

I play this on my portable dvd player ANY time i need to rest and relax.
The scenery brings me back to relaxing.Worth the $$.
I would prefer to delete the tense and relax sequence.
