This is my first exposure to guided imagery and affirmations, and I'm impressed. I find if I let myself go and follow the suggestions and imagery whole heartedly, there really is a positive effect. I am very interested in exploring more of these CD's to help me continue healing from the effects of trauma. My one concern is that the author seems to feel comfortable injecting her own personal religious convictions into the very end of the Affirmations CD. This seems particularly inappropriate after acknowledging the lack of trust and healthy boundaries that defines the world of most trauma victims. An unfortunate end to an otherwise valuable tool.

This is a fantastic audio. In fact it was the reviews that persuaded me to buy it and I wasn't disappointed, it was everything they said and more. It is a very moving and touching meditation/exercise to do, it touches the heart of the matter and goes right to the core. Trauma is a wound, a deep hurt, it really is akin to having your heart broken, particularly true with familial trauma. Highly recommended!

There is a reason that Healing Trauma is getting 5-star reviews and that is because it is arguably the best guided imagery resource out there, bar none. And, as many others write below, it is my favorite as well. The heart-based imagery/journey is fantastic and I am not ashamed to admit that a healing river of tears flows whenever I listen to it. I even get a bit misty-eyed in an uplifting way just thinking about, or in this case, writing about it. This imagery is my old friend and when I need a boost, this is where I start. As Belleruth mentions, it definitely goes deep so please follow her recommendation about where to start.
