A social worker on a dialysis unit talks about the value of guided imagery for her patients who undergo dialysis three times a week, and also for her own personal issues.. I am a social worker who has used guided imagery for myself (stress, weight management, occasional insomnia, etc) and for my patients in the context of a dialysis center. Most come three times a week for several hours at a time. It’s not an easy situation for them to be tethered to a chair 3 times a week. Some definitely do better than others with this. Some are also healthier than others.

I find the dialysis imagery very helpful to those who are getting discouraged or for those who just need a boost in motivation and inspiration. It’s also a welcome change for those who don’t want to sleep and are sick of watching TV.

I wanted to give you feedback and say thanks to Health Journeys for giving me this tool to help me in my work and to use for myself too.
