I’m looking forward to seeing many of you this week, at the Las Vegas Hilton May 20th for the U.S. Journal Training Women’s Conference, and at the Resort at Squaw Valley at Lake Tahoe May 22-23rd for my brand new, 9 CEU workshop on imagery and healing.. Hello, everyone
I’m looking forward to seeing many of you at the Las Vegas Hilton this week, where the U.S. Journal Training Conference - Integrating Therapy for Women: Science, the Heart and the Soul - will be offered from May 19 - May 21st. Co-sponsored by The Betty Ford Center, Counselor Magazine and Health Communications Inc, this 3-day, Mind-Body-Spirit conference will feature Diana Schwartzbein, Noel Larson and yours truly.
I’ll be keynoting on the morning of Thursday, the 20th, with Embodied Spirit:The Nature of the Feminine, followed by an afternoon workshop: Redeeming the Wounded Feminine through the Magic of the Imaginal Realm.
There will be a total of 18 credit hours over the 3 days for marriage & family counselors, nurses, psychologists, social workers, mental health, and alcohol & drug counselors. If you want to join us, call 800.441.5569 . Then, I’ll be offering a brand new workshop - Healing Journeys: Using the Power of Imagery for Healing, Creativity & Change - one of only two this year - at glorious Lake Tahoe from May 22-23rd. The venue is the amazing Resort at Squaw Creek, at even more amazing group rates for both the luxurious rooms and the discounted spa services.
The gracious goddesses of The ConferenceWorks! are providing a total of 9 continuing education hours to counselors, social workers, nurses, massage therapists, and marriage & family therapists, for pure guided imagery content, practice, clinical wisdom and the latest research from the field.
I think there are still some spaces available. You can get more info or register by calling 888-517-7089 or clicking on the site.
(The second and last workshop this year on this topic - the healing power of guided imagery - will be in Bloomingdale IL on July 17-18. My other 3 workshops this fall will be on the critical role of imagery in healing posttraumatic stress - Invisible Heroes: Survivors of Trauma and How They Heal. -
On another note, I’m very happy to report that Cindy tells me we now have our Alcohol & Other Drugs imagery available in CD format, as well as our Relaxed & Awake during Medical Procedures imagery, designed for all manner of yucky procedures they don’t conk you out for. They’re in the warehouse, awaiting your pleasure.
We also now have the awesome, faith-based Tranquilities Series for Stress and for Cancer in stock. This is the beautiful work of Rev. Donna Shenk, a hospital chaplain who is also a cancer survivor, and Robert Miller, a triple-threat naturopath, organist and audio engineer. Together they’ve produced these 2 remarkable collections of 5-CDs each, which combine imagery, scripture, hymns, environmental sounds and aromatherapy (yep, 5 genuine, aromatic oils, each designed to accompany the thematic content of each CD) - to create a powerful, healing experience. I even road-tested these audios with an ad hoc focus group of stressed-out cancer survivors, and it blew away those who wanted and needed this kind of content. So I’m truly delighted to have these beautiful recordings on board.
Don’t leave the site without checking out the four new Hot Research abstracts on the power of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) to help with anxiety and panic disorders - very encouraging!
