  1. Amazing Mom Caregiving a Brain-Injured Son

    We got this exquisite, heroic message a few years ago, in response to my email request for input when I was writing the Caregiver Stress imagery a few years ago.  

    I recently came across it and again marveled at the beauty, wisdom, self-awareness and courage of this rock star of a mother – it’s an essential manual for anyone facing similar, heartbreaking circumstances.  

    She helped me enormously with writing the narrative I eventually recorded, but more importantly, she’s just such a dazzling role model, who offers such excellent advice, even though she’s not trying to give it.

  2. Conjuring People Who Loved You When There Didn’t Seem to Be Any…


    I was given your cd, Chemotherapy which I found to be very helpful in my situation…So since I don''t have cancer I recently purchased your Relaxation & Wellness cd, however, it refers to "people who love you". My childhood was cold and difficult and I have been reluctant to have relationships as an adult missing out on "loving relationships" How can I get past this and enjoy my new cd???

  3. Regulation of hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal activity in response to cognitive therapy in patients

    A clinical trial from researchers at the Department of Psychiatry and Neurosciences of Maimonides University in Buenos Aires, Argentina, evaluated the effectiveness of cognitive therapy (CT) in the treatment of generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), as reflected through both psychological and psychoneuroendocrinological measures.

    Outpatients with GAD were treated with CT for up to a maximum of 24 sessions. Anxiety-related symptoms were evaluated according to the Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HAM-A), and the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) function was determined through assessment of circulating cortisol levels.
