Here is a story for you. My mother-in-law and I have had a rocky relationship for over 15 years. I won’t go into all the reasons, because it’s not the point and I’m not even sure I know them all anyway. But to say things were strained and sometimes out-and-out nasty is not an overstatement. They got worse when my father-in-law died. He was the buffer for us all. I dreaded her visits, and so did my husband and kids, because things were so tense.

Last year my mother-in-law got a stage three cancer. Along with conventional treatment, she began pursuing alternative healing methods and attended many classes in mind-body medicine. I sent her some guided imagery CDs - both the Health Journeys Cancer Pack and the Tranquillities Cancer Series. She loves them and now listens each and every day and night. They calm her and give her hope. She is doing extremely well with her treatments and her attitude couldn’t be better.

But what has really blown me away is her attitude toward me since I gave her the CDs. She is not only crazy about them - she’s now crazy about me too! She called to tell me how delighted she was after listening to the first one - I believe it was the Fight Cancer imagery, and by the end of that conversation, she was confiding in me like I was her oldest and best friend. It hasn’t stopped. We are now great friends. All that bad history is ... well, history!!! It’s pretty amazing. Now, the irony is, she’d better not succumb to this disease, because I’ll miss her so!
