This week the V.A. is rolling out an introductory video course in Guided Imagery, the prelude to a 6-session, comprehensive course that will be available FREE to any employee in the entire system, and – get this! – soon to the general professional community as well.
It looks like it will deliver somewhere around 9 contact hours of CECs (10.5 with the intro), to physicians, social workers, nurses, psychologists, pharmacists, dentists, dieticians, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and kinesthesiologists.
Now, we’ve always seen hot spots of intense enthusiasm for guided imagery in VA’s around the US, and we’ve been shipping guided imagery audios, streaming pages and Playaways to VAMC’s since 1993. But this level of full-blown, system-wide VA support?? UNPRECEDENTED! For us, it’s a dream come true…in fact, I honestly never thought I’d see the day.

I was wondering if you ever considered doing a guided imagery specifically for women survivors of childhood sexual abuse. As a survivor, and now someone who works with women survivors, there have been times guided imagery has been helpful, but it takes a long time for the person to start to try to relax into it.

I am not new to using your guided imagery. Your Self Confidence CD was very helpful to deal with freezing on tests when I returned to grad school. I have also worked with your Anger & Foregiveness imagery. I was diagnosed with PTSD a few years ago. Recently my anxiety spiked over small things that have not caused an issue previously, which my therapist believes is related to my PTSD. Sadly, I cannot afford to return to routine therapy so I thought I would try your Healing Trauma guided imagery.

I played your guided imagery for healing trauma for my friend and she strongly rejected it saying there is no peaceful place she can relate to and there is no lovely being she can identify to take her on the journey. Did I play the wrong tape? Shall I insist? I am very worried.

I am interested in your audios for posttraumatic stress and depression for my practice. Is the $11 for an MP3 copy in US dollars, and does it include all the tracks? I am in Australia. Thanks.
