Exciting Things are Happening at Health Journeys!

25 Mar

Hello, everyone.

There’s a lot going on over here at Health Journeys.

For starters, our long-awaited app is just, just, just about ready to go live. Sweartogawd and cross my heart, this is so.

The Android platform is being tested even as we speak. The IOS needs to jump through a couple more Apple/iTunes hoops, but then we’ll be good to go with iPhones, too. So stay tuned, please. We’re just about there. Truth!

We’re also bringing on some wonderful new author/practitioners and fresh, guided imagery audio programs – covering everything from a brief meditation for taking a new medicine, to some wonderfully specific imagery targeting Lyme Disease, and much more… we’re also refining and remixing a lot of great content that’s been produced poorly, and I’ll be telling you more about that shortly.

And we continue to seek out the best possible guided imagery and meditations out there. If you’ve created something to help people with their physical or mental health, or make healthy lifestyle changes, or meet peak performance challenges, let Cheryl know. She’s at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and she’ll tell you where to send your WAV audio files.

I also want to tell you about some BIG, nationwide changes at the Veterans Health Administration. Ben Kligler has pulled off something I doubted I was ever going to see happen in my lifetime – he’s making integrative health services (acupuncture, mindfulness meditation, guided imagery, biofeedback, hypnosis, etc) available to Veterans nationwide, putting in place criteria for treatment and clinical outcomes, and setting up training programs to bring staff fully on board.

For decades VA practitioners have been using guided imagery – over the years, we’ve sold our audios to over 80 VAMC’s and Vet Centers - but there was no official acknowledgment that this was a legitimate treatment approach. The VA has always moved slowly, and it seemed like this was forever going to be the case.

And then it wasn’t!! Within the space of a couple years, all that has changed. Deep bow to Ben Kligler.

I’ve been part of a Technical Expert Panel that created an evidence map of Guided Imagery, Biofeedback, and Hypnosis, and now will be part of a system-wide training team that will help interested VA staff learn more about guided imagery and how to integrate it into practice.

So go figure. You live long enough….

And in the meantime, we’ve posted some a free streaming page of guided imagery and meditation, available to all veterans, from a link on the VHA site. To learn more about this, call Cheryl, Abby or Delaney and they can give you the particulars.

Well, that’s it for now. Please stand by (as they say at the VA). There will be more announcements coming soon!

Take care and be well.
